Pen Afan School, Blaengwynfi

(Client: Neath Port Talbot Council)

Full electrical installation to the futuristic new ‘Spaceship’ school – so called because of its ground breaking circular or ‘pod’ design.

Many innovative forms of technology had to be incorporated in this project including lighting, windows and under-floor heating that adjusted automatically to react to conditions both inside and outside the classroom. The aim of this was to create a physical environment that would optimize teaching conditions, whilst minimizing any ecological impact.

Our works included fully automated internal and external lighting systems, individually metered panel and sub distribution boards, CAT 6 data installations, induction loop installations, fire, security, access control and sound field systems along with a CCTV system to be remotely monitored from a NPTC control room.
